No, most whites don't like saying the N word. In fact most whites hate the word altogether, regardless who says it. Exception is the younger crowd - I had two boys and it was "N"- word this/"N"-word that - talking to each other/friends now, not a black person in sight. Drove me crazy but it was in pop culture, the music and all. They still say it now, but not in the context of being racist to a black person, it is when they talk to their friends. But insofar as the "N"-word in the context of being used in a racist way - I only heard probably less than 5 people use it in that context my entire life. All of them but one was very old people who are now dead.

I'm from the DEEP South and I'm 45. I went to a School were it was about 50/50 white and black. We NEVER Said the N word around each other or at school. It was a Respect thing. I will say I live in Ohio for the past 14 years their is 100% more RACISM here than in NC, SC or GA. SAD I thought the North wasn't as Bad as it is. The things I have heard up here would NEVeR be said in the South EVER.

I say 'it' a lot when I am with my cousin, but we use it in a ridiculous comedic way. There is 0% malice intended, just like if I fuck around using cracker, wet-back, or any absurd slur that I don't agree with. I do it in the same way that Dave Chappell did in the Milkman skit he did.
